Fall Statement Jackets And How To Style Them

The time is upon us. Time to start wearing jackets again. While it's always hard to say goodbye to Summer, making it easier is the fall jackets this season. The classics are getting great modern updates and there is more "statement" jackets with great personality. Shilouettes and styles include Funnel Neck, Peplum, Military, Shearling, Shrunken (Updated Lady), and Tuxedo. Which works well with cummerbund trend we are seeing right now.
Here are several of our favorite silhouettes and styles of the season.

Love this Jacket! Classic black goes with everything. It's got cardigan look, which is my go-to no matter the season. Styling it just as it is with leather pant and black belt. What I'm adding: A Big, Flower (Maybe black? maybe a color?) Adding flowers is my thing ~ Waaaaaay before Carrie Bradshaw. ;) Do you have a "thing"? Add it to your jackets.
FUNNEL NECK CAPE

So, I'm loving this because of the "non-restricting" style of this coat (cape) Easy to wear, super sleek and stylish ~ a break from a "coat". And it features the funnel neck style, but it's doesn't have the restriction that many funnels have that are more of a "turtleneck". I'm that person that always takes off my coat when I'm driving. This cape is easy and perfect.

I do love me anything Zimmerman. ;) Pussybow Coat is a creamy, delicate feminine style with the beautiful neck bow detail. Seems like it has a "swing" style.

Ok, so the 80"s girl in me loves the puff sleeve. No matter the season, no matter the trend ~ you'll see me going for a puff sleeve. Always loved them probably always will. Soooo, this jacket is in their Trunk Show.
** Not everything in a trunk show automatically makes it to the final retail collection. Designers use trunk shows to gauge interest and get pre-orders before committing to a collection.

Got to love a "double-style", "double-duty" piece, right? Great reversible piece. Plus, it looks super warm.
FREE PEOPLE PUFFER JACKET
Ok, so we know a puffer jacket can look "puffy" and bulky, BUT I'm drawn to this one because of it's smooth look. No seams ~ just smooth. Belt is a big plus.
HOW I'M STYLING FALL JACKETS THIS SEASON
Replacing Belts. If a jacket has a belt, I'm replacing it will a big, corset style belt, or western belt. Make your jackets your own personality piece.
Adding Flower. My personal style I would describe as edgy romantic. (Thus' the leather coat and flower adding talked about here.) So, I'm adding a flower to my leather jackets that have label. Not a flower person? Add a brooch ~ add your personal style.
