Oftentimes, I use other items as a platter ~ large photo frame, wooden art frame, a mirror (like this Casa Zuma beautiful Castello braided rattan wall mirror) and as I chatted in How to Make Your Pies Pretty and Styled,  I have even used the top of a clothing hamper as a platter/tray.  Make your home items new again by giving them another purpose and another reason to love them.
