Grannycore, grannychic, grannyglam ~ however you describe it ~ “it’s a thing. It’s a trend”  We are seeing it in more chic designs and ways.  We are seeing crochet styles, bandanas and granny quilts. Designers like Sezane are inspired by the trend in their fashion, like this patchwork Ballia Jacket.  We are embracing granny in her original style because it’s nostalgic, cozy and comforting to bring that granny vibe into our life.  If Grannycore is maybe “too vintage” for you, there are always fresh, new ways to wear the style and re-imagine vintage.  We have been seeing the trend in lifestyle from home to fashion.

Feel like the trend has always been a part of me.  As an Interior Photo Stylist living and working in the New England states, these styles have always been a part of many of my clients style.  Not completely, but always pieces sprinkled in brand photo shoots.  I’m a regular over at the Brimfield Antique Flea Market for 3 weeks a year to collect items for clients (& me!)  While I’m more of modern style aesthetic fan, I have pieces from that nostalgic time that I love to collect and sprinkle in my style. (They are milkglass, vases, enamel flower brooches and rings and cocktail purses)  And that’s what you can do with this trend ~ add some sprinkles and "winks" of nostalgia.  Within my minimalist modern style, I always have touches of whimsy in both home and wardrobe

But Grannycore is not just an aesthetic ~ it’s a lifestyle, a vibe.  You will see the imagery of Rose of Timeless Designers here on the Blog. (& this post cover image) Rose embraces and gets the granny vibe.  She even has a Granny Post.  It’s a monthly emotional reset.  How great does that sound? Granny letters that help you slow down, feel seen, and reconnect.  It could be a handwritten note, printed note, small artwork, pin OR a Granny truth bomb only a granny can deliver!  I've definitely gotten those from my own Grandma! ;)

Because that’s what the trend is really all about ~ slowing down, remembering and embracing  a slower time.

VINTAGE FURNITURE & ACCESSORIES

Key grandma core pieces are antique dressers, clawfoot tables, rocking chairs, bar carts, victorian lamps, cafe curtains, pyrex, artwork/frames, nature inspired dried florals, quilts, dolies and needlepoint. The trend embraces maximalism.  Unlike minimalism, grannycore favors collecting items and displaying them. (Think teacups, perfume bottles, milkglass)

I love the little touches of this trend.  From my grandmother, I have porcelain teacups, jewelry, floral art, and her cocktail purses.  They always give me that feeling of nostalgia, warmth, memory and love.
